“When children are taught in a way that matches how they learn, confidence follows.” — Maryanne Wolf
At Minds in Motion Learning
Our goal is to support students who find reading, spelling, and writing challenging. Our teaching is based on the Multisensory Structured Language (MSL) approach, supported by strong research from the science of reading.
It teaches reading and spelling explicitly, systematically, and cumulatively — using multisensory techniques (seeing, hearing, saying, doing) to support memory and learning. This approach is particularly effective for students who have difficulty with traditional teaching methods, as it helps build strong neural pathways for lasting learning.

About the therapist
Tamara is a qualified primary school teacher with a Bachelor of Education and over 10 years of experience supporting children in both classroom settings and targeted literacy intervention. She is a certified language specialist, trained in the Multisensory Structured Language (MSL) approach.
Tamara is passionate about helping children feel confident and capable in their learning. She understands that reading, spelling, and writing can be challenging for some learners and is dedicated to providing clear, supportive, and structured teaching so every child can experience success and grow in confidence.
Literacy for the Foundation of Learning
Early literacy skills are the foundation for confident reading, spelling, and writing. When children develop strong early reading skills, they are better able to understand what they read, express their ideas, and succeed across all areas of learning.
The 5 Keys of Reading—phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension—work together to support how children learn to read. At Minds in Motion Learning, we focus on strengthening each of these key areas to prevent learning gaps and help children build confidence from the very beginning.

What Is Dyslexia?
“Dyslexia is an unexpected difficulty in reading in an individual who has the intelligence to be a much better reader.”
— Sally Shaywitz
Dyslexia is a neurodevelopmental difference that affects how the brain processes written language. It can make learning to read and spell more challenging, but it is not related to intelligence. Many learners with dyslexia benefit from explicit, structured teaching of sounds, spelling patterns, and language structures, along with regular practice and review.
